Project Overview

With the expansion of medical services, Changzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital launched an expansion project in September 2023, which will generate a large amount of medical wastewater daily. To ensure the safety of the surrounding environment, all medical wastewater must undergo strict treatment before being discharged, and the treated water quality must meet the pre-treatment requirements in the "Discharge Standards for Water Pollutants in Medical Institutions" GB18466-2005. The designed drainage capacity is 100 tons/day. To ensure timely delivery of the project and meet the discharge standards, Linglan Environment is responsible for supplying and installing the sewage treatment system.

Technical solution

Linglan Environment provided one ISES Mega type sewage treatment equipment for the project, which adopts advanced physicochemical, sedimentation, and disinfection processes. The specific processing procedure is as follows:

1.  Physical and chemical treatment: By adding chemical agents, suspended solids and some organic pollutants in the wastewater are removed, causing the pollutant particles in the wastewater to aggregate and form flocs that are easy to precipitate.

2.  Precipitation: By gravity settling, solid particles in wastewater are further separated to reduce suspended solids content.

3.  Disinfection: Efficient disinfection techniques are used to ensure that harmful substances such as pathogenic microorganisms and viruses in wastewater are thoroughly eliminated, meeting safe discharge standards.

The design of this sewage treatment system not only ensures treatment efficiency, but also has advantages such as stable operation and easy operation, which is suitable for the daily sewage treatment needs of medical institutions.

Linglan Environment began providing sewage treatment equipment for the project in July 2024 and successfully completed the installation and commissioning of the equipment in August 2024. After the equipment was put into use, it operated stably and effectively ensured that the medical wastewater generated during the expansion process of Changzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital could be safely discharged in compliance with standards.
